Sturdy Solid bed, great for any age.
I bought the twin high loft to use in my 11 year old twins' bedroom. It is a very good quality and is extremely sturdy. We have it lofted over a queen bed (yes, a queen, not a full) from Crate and Barrel. The queen bed fits easily underneath the Matrix high loft twin bed. There is even about 8” of space on each side of the queen. Definitely recommend this brand and bed. The wood is solid, arrived undamaged, and was easy to assemble. I did it entirely alone except at the end when you need to flip it over, I needed help from my husband. Keep in mind, we had to assemble it in a room already full of furniture so we had to do a little shuffling around. My 65 year old mother recently had to sleep up there and she said it was great. The 12’ side rail makes it possible to buy a real mattress, not just a thin terrible bunk mattress. 12" side rails are amazing! I did purchase the shelf and book rack, but did not realize they were intended to mount along the long side only. We made the shelf work on the side, but returned the book rack because I didnt want it mounted on the "front."

Worth every Penny!
Worth every penny! This bed is incredible well built and sturdy. My husband and I get up to read books with my daughter and it doesn't even budge. You will not find better quality than this!

Solid, but needs more height.
Exceptional quality, though it would benefit from 3-5 extra inches of under loft clearance. Really only suitable for younger children given the low height.

11 year old finally able to sleep
My 11 year old absolutely adores their high loft bed. It is beautiful and sold construction. You cannot beat the price for the level of quality. Assembly was not so bad but it did take a few days of putting it together piece by piece. My only complaint was that the instructions for the full (high loft) bed did not exist and so we had to use the twin, which did not indicate the very much needed metal support bar. Only dawned on me that the support bar was needed when assembly 6 year olds twin bed and had to talk to support to figure out a way to attached the metal support bar without disassembling the whole bed. Overall we did it and wow-what a nice bed!

Highly recommended
We bought the mid-loft double bed with angled stairs. It is so solid and works perfectly in a room with lower (8 ft) ceilings. Two people put it together in a couple of hours. Great purchase!

Good investment overall, not perfect.
Overall I'm happy with the investment. I purchased two med loft frames. These are sturdy frames that will hold my boys through high school at least. I was disappointed that the ladder holes for the purpose of securing the ladder to the frame with bolts did not line up. The ladder was thinner than the access point on both frames. Only one side lines up and I was able to screw in the bolts. So one side is bolted, the other side is not. The holes are off by 1/8-1/4'. The ladder has mounting brackets and rests on the floor so it will probably not create an issue. For this price point however, the manufacturing/CAD programming on these products should be buttoned-up better, with little /of any alignment issues.

Recommend owning but not buying.
This is a great bed to own, but I don't recommend buying one straight from Maxtrix. It took 2 months for it to arrive after placing my order for something that was listed as in stock. While they were informative with the overall process, the time for each step is excessive and clearly inefficient. It's a good thing I was not in a hurry. The process felt like I was buying custom furniture. On the upside, the kids and parents are happy with the bed. When removing the long side bed supports from the box I noticed they were warped, but that was fixed when I compressed the sides while screwing in the slats. However, due to the slat screws not being pre-drilled moving the bed several times will take it's toll over time.

Not so stable
My son loves his new loft bed so that is not the issue. The problems are 1) Install is much more than a two man job for a full size loft and 2) the bed is super wobbly despite the rock locks. I thought our locks might be faulty but they refuse to send me replacements unless I somehow flip the entire bed again and take a video of the rock locks installed. Once I have the ability to get two more large men to my house to flip the bed again I might be able to do that, but is it a good use of my time and money after spending $2000 on the bed + accessories? I don't think so. Also I can't see how replacing those would even solve the problem.
